Fremantle Preps Ukrainian Talent Doc

Fremantle is working on the new feature documentary Power of Talent, which reveals the real-life stories of contestants from Ukraine on Got Talent stages around the world.

Fremantle is collaborating with Ukrainian broadcaster STB on the doc, which delves into the lives of previous Ukraine’s Got Talent contestants, revealing the obstacles they face amidst the ongoing conflict. Power of Talent is set to debut on Ukrainian Independence Day, August 24, on STB.

The documentary will follow the journeys of Ukrainian acts such as Light Balance Kids, Natasha Korotkina and Artem Fesko.

This marks the first time that the Got Talent format will be the backdrop of a feature documentary.

Fremantle is handling the global distribution.

Angela Neillis, senior VP of non-scripted content for international at Fremantle, said: “Over the years, Got Talent has brought so much joy to audiences across the globe—we are absolutely thrilled to have a film that delves into the lives of the inspiring Ukrainian acts taking part. This is a film that inspires hope whilst featuring fantastic talent, which is what talent shows are all about. STB have been a great partner to work with and we cannot wait to share Power of Talent globally.”

Simon Cowell, creator of Got Talent, commented: “Over the years we’ve made Got Talent, we’ve met extraordinary people all over the world and this documentary will highlight some of the people we’ve met.”

Natalya Franchuk, general producer of programs at STB, commented: “Ukraine’s Got Talent on STB has always been a high-quality television production. This new feature documentary will captivate audiences with powerful real-life stories of past Ukraine’s Got Talent contestants. This film serves as a testament to the contestants and resilience of Ukrainian people and will showcase their talents on the world stage.”
