Blue Ant Studios Unveils Prince Andrew Doc

The Blue Ant Studios documentary special Prince Andrew: Banished is set to premiere on Peacock in the U.S. later this year.

Prince Andrew: Banished unpacks the story of how Prince Andrew, Duke of York, tarnished the legacy of the British Royal Family. The documentary features new interviews with palace insiders, journalists, members of the prince’s social circle and the legal team that brought allegations against him to light to examine the world of privilege in which he long operated.

Following Blue Ant’s three-part docuseries Epstein’s Shadow: Ghislaine Maxwell, Prince Andrew: Banished will show what led the royal into the orbit of Epstein and Maxwell and into the sex-trafficking scandal that threatens to bring down the House of Windsor.

Prince Andrew: Banished will be distributed internationally by Blue Ant International and will premiere on Peacock on October 5.

Executive producers Jennifer Harkness, senior VP of unscripted development and production at Blue Ant Studios, and Laura Michalchyshyn, chief creative officer and co-president at Blue Ant Studios, said: “We became interested in Prince Andrew’s story when we were deep into research for our documentary series on Ghislaine Maxwell, and it became evident that there was a lot more to explore there. Our goal with this documentary is to investigate the underlying question: how did someone born into a life of such extreme privilege end up in this precarious place?”

Jamie Crawford, director and executive producer, said: “While the Royal Family has long been a point of public and press fascination, there is so much more to the Prince Andrew story than the flurry of headlines on his downfall. The stories shared in this documentary will shed light on the whole arc of his life and on a steady accumulation of events that catalyzed his fall from grace and called into question the legacy of the monarchy in a way that was once unthinkable.”
