Insight TV Studios has entered into a co-production partnership with Webedia and its production entity X-Treme Video, with a skateboarding docuseries set as their first joint project.

The first co-production under the new partnership is Full Circle, which is scheduled to premiere on Insight TV in spring 2020. The five-part series is hosted by Richie Jackson, a professional skater legendary for his unique style. Jackson will meet with the skateboarding community’s biggest personalities, including Dane Barry, Chad Muska, Mike McGill and Jake Brown, to talk about the past, present and future of the skateboard scene.

Full Circle and all of Insight TV Studios productions are filmed in 4K UHD and HDR.

Insight TV Studios will also work with Webedia to access its roster of social media influencers and digital talent to develop further projects aimed at the millennial and Gen Z audiences. This includes influencers such as Mike McGill, Chris Chan, Stacey Peralta, Mikey Taylor and Aurelien Giraud.

“With our first co-production with Webedia’s X-Treme Video, we are celebrating a historic moment in the history of skateboarding as it will be included for the very first time in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics,” said Marco Frazier, VP of Insight TV Studios. “Throughout the year, we’ll dive into new sports that connect the younger audience to the Olympic Games. Skateboarding is one of those sports—although, to skateboarding fans, it’s really more than a sport or a lifestyle…it’s almost a religion!”

“With the 2020 Olympics right around the corner, skateboarding has become one of the hottest topics around so X-Treme Video appealed to its entire community of creators and athletes to cover the subject in a totally new and innovative way,” said Gregg Bywalski, COO of Webedi. “Working with the Insight TV Studios team has allowed us to reach a whole new level both in terms of storytelling and technology, capturing the skateboard scene as it was never done before.”
