ITV Sets Royal Wedding Specials from Spun Gold

ITV has commissioned two new prime-time programs from Spun Gold TV in the lead-up to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s approaching wedding.

The hour-long Prince Harry’s Story: Four Royal Weddings… follows Prince Harry’s life from childhood to his active service as a soldier in Afghanistan to his international charity work through to his upcoming wedding. The program looks at his life through key turning points—four royal weddings and the tragic and untimely death of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. Prince Harry’s Story: Four Royal Weddings… uses newsreel footage and commentary from royal sources, historians, journalists and key figures from Prince Harry’s life.

ITV also commissioned the two-part documentary series Royal Wives of Windsor. The docuseries explores the lives of some of the women who married into the House of Windsor over the last century. It looks at how these women, including Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (The Queen Mother), Wallis Simpson, Princess Diana, Sarah Ferguson, Camilla Parker-Bowles, Sophie Rhys Jones and The Duchess of Cambridge, have transformed the royal family. The series sees historians David Starkey, Kate Williams and Piers Brendon; writers and broadcasters Jeremy Paxman and Afua Hirsch; biographer Andrew Morton; and other royal insiders provide a definitive review of British social history as reflected through the lives of these women.

Both Prince Harry’s Story: Four Royal Weddings… and Royal Wives of Windsor are being distributed globally by all3media international.
