YouTube Kids Introduces Month of Making

YouTube Kids, as part of an ongoing effort to bring inspiring in-app experiences to children, has rolled out Month of Making, a new initiative designed to encourage youngsters to be creative off-screen.

Through May 31, Month of Making will teach kids how to put together a robot, educate them about coding, and invite them to create arts and crafts, among other activities. The initiative also features playlists, including Peppa Pig Month of Making and Make Stuff Do Stuff! with GoldieBlox & Kari Byron.

The playlist from Byron (Mythbusters) and GoldieBlox highlights a range of DIY crafts. The Peppa Pig playlist features videos about coloring and painting. The Month of Making campaign follows YouTube Kids’ recent announcement about adding more parental controls to help make the app a more kid-friendly destination.
