British Columbia’s Knowledge Network has slated the premiere of Woolly Woolly, from PVP Media, for April 9.

The preschool series, based on the Mochimochi Land brand created by Anna Hrachovec, follows the adventures of five gnomes who live in a whimsical forest made entirely of wool. It will air on Knowledge Network weekdays at 10:15 a.m. and will be available to stream for free across Canada on the Knowledge Kids website and app.

In the series, the gnomes loop through their cozy but unpredictable world, going on adventures and solving mysteries such as unraveling incidents in Woollywood and harvesting wool from unique sheep. The Woollys face each challenge with courage, creativity and their knack for knitting whatever they need. The tales are brought to life by Lila and Marco, two imaginative kids in their playroom who spin everyday emotions and situations into adventures for their toy wool gnomes.

The French version of the series will premiere in Canada on TOU.TV as Les Woullis on April 8 and on ICI Télé on April 13. It is currently available in Europe on France TV. It is also available in Canada already via TVOkids.

Woolly Woolly was made in collaboration with director Emmanuel Linderer and the Paris-based studio Normaal. For PVP Media, François Trudel and Vincent Leroux are executive producers, François Trudel is producer, and Nicolas Dalpé is production director.

“We’re thrilled to share Woolly Woolly with families across Canada through our broadcasting partners,” Trudel said. “This series is a joyful exploration of creativity and friendship, encouraging children to use their imagination in a fun and meaningful way.”

Michele Paris, senior manager of Knowledge Kids, commented, “We’re delighted to bring this unique new series to our viewers. Kids will be inspired by how Marco and Lila’s imaginative play and creative storytelling lead to all kinds of wildly entertaining adventures with these adorable, quirky characters.”
