Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’s David Henrie & Janice LeAnn Brown

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, Disney+’s revival of the hit Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place, returned on October 8, with all ten episodes dropping on the platform at once. Season two continues to follow wizard-in-training Billie as she integrates into the Russo family, while Justin begins to train her and his children for the family wizard competition.

David Henrie, who stars as Justin Russo, serves as an executive producer alongside original cast member and guest star Selena Gomez. Henrie took on an extra role for season two, making his TV directing debut with the episode “Boogie and the Beast.”

Henrie and fellow star Janice LeAnn Brown sat down with TV Kids Weekly to talk about their characters’ evolution over seasons one and two, Henrie’s TV directing debut and how the spin-off taps into the nostalgia of the original series while shining on its own.
