WildBrain Television has greenlit seven new series, seasons and specials across animation and live action, which will premiere beginning this fall and throughout 2022.

Among the animated greenlights is Lucas the Spider, produced by Fresh TV and WexWorks Media, based on the hit YouTube shorts that follow a happy and inquisitive jumping spider. It is slated to premiere on Family Jr. this fall.

WildBrain Television has ordered specials for both Denis and Me and Caillou. Four 11-minute Denis and Me specials, produced in partnership with Headspinner Productions, will air alongside season two of the series on Family Channel this fall. Five 45-minute Caillou specials will begin premiering in summer 2022 and will center on Christmas, Halloween, Family Day, summer vacation and National Anti-Bullying Day.

Summer Memories, produced by A&N Productions, Aircraft Pictures and Yeti Farm Creative, is a brand-new series that follows the adventures of best friends Jason and Ronnie, as Jason looks back on the most pivotal summer of his life. It will begin airing on Family Channel in summer 2022.

For live-action programming, WildBrain Television has greenlit two new series that are slated to premiere in winter 2022. Ruby & the Well, produced by Shaftesbury, follows a young girl who discovers a mystical source of wishes. Taking Note, produced in partnership with Lambur Productions, tracks the fictional life of a talented musical teenager competing in a Hollywood reality show.

WildBrain Television also gave the go-ahead for season three of Holly Hobbie, produced by Aircraft Pictures in association with Cloudco Entertainment and WexWorks Media. Ten 22-minute episodes will begin airing on Family Channel this fall.

These new series and seasons join previously announced greenlights for new episodes of Malory Towers and The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy.

Katie Wilson, VP of channels and content for WildBrain, said: “We’re delighted to partner with such a talented, diverse group of producers and creators, reflecting our deep commitment to commissioning best-in-class Canadian content. These green lights and renewals feature an exciting mix of animated and live-action content, building on our network’s promise to offer Canadian families a place to share compelling and entertaining stories together.”
