Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Americas has appointed Cristian Cabero to the expanded role of senior VP of consumer products and location-based experiences (LBE).

In addition to his new position, Cabero will continue to oversee the licensing, retail and product strategies for VIMN Americas’ portfolio of properties and brands in Latin America, which include Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., MTV, Comedy Central and Paramount. His new role will see Cabero and his team identifying potential partners and negotiating licensing deals to develop Nick-branded experiences, primarily focused on entertainment centers and live stage productions in the region.

He will also assist with the management of existing partnerships from a local level for Nickelodeon-branded resorts, theme parks, attractions, cruises and exhibitions. Based in Miami, for his new role, Cabero will report to Gerald Raines, senior VP of global location-based experiences, and will continue to report to Pierluigi Gazzolo, president of VIMN Americas, and Mark Kingston, senior VP of international for Viacom Nickelodeon consumer products.

In his prior role, Cabero was senior VP of consumer products for the Americas and toys international with direct oversight of the toy category for all of VIMN in Europe, Asia and the expansion of VIMN’s toy business in these markets. Cabero’s professional experience includes more than ten years at The Walt Disney Company in Mexico and a post at Canal 13 in Chile.

“Licensing is an extremely important part of Viacom’s business,” said Raines. “Whether that is through our consumer products, live events, hotels, and theme parks, we want to bring audiences closer to our characters and stories. I am thrilled to have Cristian and his team on board to assist in expanding location-based experiences in the Americas.”
