Total Drama Creators to Take Part in TV Kids Summer Festival

Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch, creators of Total Drama Island, will be joined by CAKE’s Ed Galton for a special session during the TV Kids Summer Festival, offering an in-depth look at the success of the franchise.

The TV Kids Summer Festival, which is being held from June 7 to 10, will explore the challenges and opportunities facing the children’s content community today. McGillis is president of Fresh TV and an Emmy Award-winning executive producer, series creator and writer of YA entertainment. Pertsch is VP of creative affairs at Fresh TV and is also an Emmy Award-winning executive producer, writer and series creator. Together, McGillis and Pertsch have created such smash hits as the Total Drama franchise, My Babysitter’s a Vampire and 6teen. At the TV Kids Summer Festival, they will be joined by Galton—currently chief commercial officer and managing director of CAKE, soon to assume the CEO role—to discuss the global success of the Total Drama franchise, the alchemy of the creative process and the work that goes into keeping the brand fresh and engaging season after season.
