PARIS: Cyber Group Studios has appointed Those Licensing People (TLP) to handle U.K. and Eire licensing rights for the animated preschool series Zou.

Those Licensing People is seeking U.K. publishing and toy partners for Zou as a basis for expanding the property’s licensing portfolio. Those Licensing People has a full licensing remit across all sectors save for DVD, VOD and SVOD. The show, which follows Zou the little zebra as he learns valuable life lessons, airs in the U.K. on Disney Junior.

The first two seasons of Zou have been sold in more than 150 countries in 30-plus languages. It airs in the U.S. on Sprout and NBC Kids. A third season has been produced for and prebought by Disney EMEA. It is scheduled to premiere on Disney Junior France by the end of 2016 and in the U.K. in early 2017. The third season brings the total number of episodes to 156.

Pierre Sissmann, the chairman and CEO of Cyber Group Studios, said, “I am thrilled of this U.K. partnership with TLP for developing Zou, which is already a big brand worldwide and has enjoyed great ratings all over the world. I have considerable confidence in Russell [Neale Anthony Dever] and his team to make this another success and bring to the table first-class licensing and promotional partners, like we have everywhere else.”

Russell Neale Anthony Dever, the managing director at Those Licensing People, commented, “It is a privilege to be invited to act in the U.K. and Eire on behalf of this wonderful property, which fits neatly into a slate of IP we have taken great care to develop. We aspire to become an important part of the Cyber Group Studios offering; working with Pierre and his team will be a joy.”
