TORONTO: Temple Street Productions (The Next Step) has taken a significant minority interest in Industrial Brothers, a children's content creation and animation company.

The new investment will see Temple Street provide Industrial Brothers with the capital and expertise to support the growth of original productions, while also bolstering Temple Street's global distribution catalogue. Temple Street's distribution arm, which is led by Jon Rutherford, will support Industrial Brothers' sales of content, merchandising and licensing. Temple Street's in-house digital team will collaborate with Industrial Brothers on content development and execution of interactive, gaming and app projects.

"Industrial Brothers is one of North America's premier creative animation companies with a clear track record for engaging the much sought-after children's audience, creating premium digital and television series," said John Young, the managing director of Temple Street Productions. "This investment continues our forward-looking approach to growth across all categories while expanding our distribution opportunities. We are delighted to be working with Matthew and Arthur and the entire team at Industrial Brothers."

"This is an exciting opportunity and a great fit for Industrial Brothers," added Matthew Fernandes, president and co-founder of Industrial Brothers. "Our ambition has always been to create top-quality programming for the marketplace and this aligns us perfectly with the vision and values of Temple Street. The new partnership gives us access to the expertise of Temple Street and allows us to continue to create and produce our brand of content well into the future."
