STOCKHOLM: Sweden’s Svensk Filmindustri (SF) is releasing SF Kids Play, a new SVOD service featuring a variety of classic and new children’s TV series and movies from around the world.

SF Kids Play will feature such Swedish classics as Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Longstocking and Karlsson on the Roof, as well as the newer international properties Maya the Bee, Roary the Racing Car and Peppa Pig. The ad-free service, which includes parental controls and the ability to bookmark kids’ favorite titles, will update its selection of film and television fare on a regular basis. It will launch on Monday, February 29. All content will be available to download for offline viewing.

“It’s a treasure chest chock full of movies and series, packaged in a new concept, and it’s fantastic to be able to offer all of this to families with kids in the entire Nordic region,” said Jonas Fors, the CEO of AB Svensk Filmindustri.

”The selection of entertainment for children online is huge, but what’s been missing up until now is a secure corner that offers a mix of classics with the latest kids’ favorites.

”The movie industry is, like many other industries, constantly developing. AB Svensk Filmindustri faces many exciting challenges, and this is a way of broadening our business.”
