Spooky Files Returning with Second Season

Australia’s ABC has slated the season two premiere of Spooky Files for October 4 on ABC iview.

In the new season, the Spooky Crew is back to regular business until the original Spooky, Chaos, suddenly shows up and a bunch of new Spookies start appearing. The Crew must work together to defend their town from mayhem while figuring out where Chaos has been for the last six months, how the portal reopened and why all the Spookies refuse to go home.

The original Spooky Crew cast—Thomas Saddler, Alberta Brudan, Audrey Salinas and Lennox Lee—is returning for season two. Mila Hourmouzis is joining the lead cast as the newest member of the Spooky Crew, Backpack Jess, after making her screen acting debut in season one.

The ensemble cast also features Guy Edmonds, Matt Zeremes, Mina Annan, Rebecca Bower (Bad Mothers), Mario Setyana (La Brea), HaiHa Le (Boy Swallows Universe), Michala Banas (Gold Diggers), Bert La Bonté (Five Bedrooms) and John Leary (The Newsreader).

Spooky Files is created and written by Guy Edmonds and Matt Zeremes (Hardball). They are joined on the writing team for season two by Marisa Nanakhorn Brown, Emma Gordon, Clem Bastow, Tim Williams, Alexander Andreotti and Andrea Denholm. Sarah Hickey (Crazy Fun Park) joins returning directors Letitia Cáceres, Matt Zeremes and Guy Edmonds.

The series is a Tony Ayres Productions (TAP) and Megaboom Pictures production for ABC and BBC. It receives major production investment from Screen Australia, in association with ABC. It is financed with support from VicScreen and BBC.

The new episodes of Spooky Files and season one will be available to stream on ABC iview on October 4. Season two will also air in the dedicated kids’ zone on ABC Entertains on weekdays beginning October 28.
