The Jim Henson Company, Herschend Studios and PBS Kids have launched Ocean Friends Forever, a social media and community engagement initiative centered on the series Splash and Bubbles, to coincide with World Oceans Day on June 8.

The campaign Ocean Friends Forever encompasses multiple PBS station events across the U.S. through June 8. The initiative involves screenings, activity pages, hands-on investigations, Splash and Bubbles character appearances and more. Splash and Bubbles, which airs daily on PBS stations nationwide, encourages children to explore ocean science and marine biology.

In addition, Help Our Kelp, a new digital game, invites kids to keep a kelp forest healthy by cleaning invasive species such as sea urchins from the environment. The game is available online and on the free PBS Kids Games app.

Splash and Bubbles is also available for free on PBS Kids digital platforms. The show is a production of The Jim Henson Company and Herschend Studios. The series is executive produced by Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford of The Jim Henson Company, Julie Phillips and Merrill Puckett-Miller of Herschend Enterprises, and John Tartaglia, Michael Shawn Lewis and Jill Shinderman. The series is funded in part by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
