Sinking Ship Entertainment has teamed up with Fathom Events and Cineplex Events to bring exclusive one-day premiere screenings of Dino Dana the Movie to over 550 theaters across the U.S. and Canada.

The screenings will feature exclusive content, including a special on-screen welcome message from Dana and some of her prehistoric friends. Young attendees will also become certified Dino Dana “paleontologists-in-training” at the special events, which are set to take place on Saturday, March 21.

Dino Dana the Movie is produced by Sinking Ship Entertainment with the participation of Telefilm Canada, the Shaw Rocket Fund and Ontario Creates, and in association with Amazon Studios and TVOKids.

Dino Dana the Movie finds 10-year-old Dana, who sees dinosaurs in the real world, solving dino experiment #901—where are all the kid dinosaurs? But while working on the solution, her new neighbor Mateo (Evan Whitten, Mr. Robot) is kidnapped by a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and it’s up to Dana, her sister Saara (Saara Chaudry, The Breadwinner) and Mateo’s brother Jadiel (Richie Lawrence, Heroes Reborn) to finish the experiment.

The Dino Dana brand includes a four-season television series that follows Dana, a feisty 10-year-old “paleontologist-in-training” with a big imagination who eats, sleeps and breathes dinosaurs. With the help of her Dino Field Guide, Dana can imagine dinosaurs into the real world. Dino Dana the series airs on Amazon Prime in the U.S. and TVOKids, Knowledge Network and Yoopa in Canada.

“Over the years, we have watched the Dino brand grow—from Dan, to Trek, and now Dana,” said J.J. Johnson, Dino Dana the Movie co-writer, director and executive producer and founder of Sinking Ship Entertainment. “We are thrilled that audiences from around the world have found themselves captivated and inspired by Dana’s adventurous and creative spirit. Taking the series to the big screen with Dino Dana the Movie means we are able to bring more dinosaurs and bolder adventures to life—encouraging fans to come together to experience the magic of science in a bigger way than ever before.”

“We are excited to be partnering with Fathom and Cineplex on these premiere events,” added Kate Sanagan, head of sales and distribution at Sinking Ship Entertainment. “The movie is an incredible extension of the Dino Dana experience, and we are looking forward to bringing an engaging fan experience to our North American audience.”
