SYDNEY: Seven has acquired the interactive wildlife series ZooMoo for its broadcast channel 7TWO, where the show will premiere next month.

ZooMoo combines lively animal puppet hosts with wildlife footage meant to help children between the ages of 5 and 7 develop an appreciation for the natural world. The program, which is linked to a free app featuring games, music, puzzles and more, recently began airing in the U.S. and throughout Latin America. It is due to debut on 7TWO in Australia on February 16 at 7 a.m.

Catherine Nebauer, ZooMoo Networks’s general manager, commented: “We are delighted to be bringing this fun yet educational series to 7TWO’s audiences as well as to be sharing our passion for animals in their natural world with kids here in Australia. More and more, kids are losing direct interaction with nature, so it’s important we find ways to gently and enthusiastically nurture their innate affection for animals in ways that complement their learning and play time. Coupling the television viewing experience with the interactive mobile ZooMooApp element ensures kids are engaged in multiple ways as they learn about the lives of animals. Through their interaction with ZooMoo we hope the fascination of animal life stays with them to ensure the preservation of our world and its inhabitants for future generations.”

Niki Hamilton, Seven’s executive producer of children’s television, added: “Seven is proud to be bringing such an innovative and engaging series to Australian families.”
