Sesame Street: Neighborhood Adventures Launches on Roblox

Sesame Street: Neighborhood Adventures, a new interactive experience that allows players to design their own avatars, play themed minigames and watch show clips, has launched on Roblox.

“Since our founding in 1969, Sesame Workshop has been committed to meeting children and families where they are,” said Aaron Bisman, senior VP of marketing. “With gaming and immersive experiences growing in popularity alongside streaming video platforms, this launch is a vital new contribution to our audience-first, omni-channel approach. Our mission is to help children everywhere grow smarter, stronger and kinder, and our new Roblox hub is an exciting new way we’re delivering on that. We can’t wait to welcome fans of all ages to explore our neighborhood.”

Among the games users can play are Abby’s Hide and Grow Seek, Cookie Monster’s Cookie Cart Catch! and Sticker Collecting Scavenger Hunt. Completed tasks will earn rewards to unlock T-shirts for players’ in-game Sesame Street character avatars. More minigames, activities and stories are planned.

As part of the launch, Sesame Street: Neighborhood Adventures will host a sneak peek of Tales from 123. For 24 hours beginning 9 a.m. ET on November 8, the franchise’s newest animated segment will stream.

A key part of the new Roblox experience is the inclusion of Magical Beasties, new creatures who will make their on-screen debut in new Sesame Street episodes on November 10 on Netflix and PBS KIDS. Roblox players will meet them first in the Magical Beastie Quest.

Players can also portal to Sesame Street Mecha Builders: The Game, which has already surpassed 70 million visits since its launch on Roblox in 2022.

“The Sesame Workshop team understands the great power of meeting learners where they are, not just by showing up on Roblox, but by bringing to life a living, explorable hub and leading players into worlds and narratives that can motivate and reinforce learning,” said Rebecca Kantar, head of education at Roblox. “Designed with platform-specific architecture and Roblox players in mind, games like Mecha Builders and Magical Beastie Quest foster engaging, playful learning experiences. We are thrilled that young learners will benefit from the skill, storytelling, comfort and fun Sesame Street offers on Roblox.”

The virtual set of Sesame Street: Neighborhood Adventures Hub was built by Shovel Team and Exclusible. Magical Beastie Quest was developed by MindTrust. The project was made possible by a grant from the Roblox Development Fund.
