Scrooge: A Christmas Carol Voice Cast Revealed

Netflix has unveiled the actors who will voice the characters of Scrooge: A Christmas Carol, a CG animated reimagining of the Charles Dickens classic.

Produced by Timeless Films in association with Axis Studios, the film is being directed by Stephen Donnelly (Lost in Oz). Luke Evans is voicing Scrooge, while Olivia Colman is voicing Past.

The voice cast also includes Jessie Buckley, Johnny Flynn, Fra Fee, Giles Terera, Trevor Dion Nicholas, James Cosmo and Jonathan Pryce.

Scrooge: A Christmas Carol features reimagined songs from Academy Award and Grammy winner Leslie Bricusse (Doctor Dolittle, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Superman, Home Alone). Producers of the film are Ralph Kamp, Bricusse and Andrew Pearce. Rebecca Kamp and Gareth Kamp are co-producers.

The animated feature is slated to debut on Netflix in December.

“It’s been a fascinating challenge to adapt such a beloved and often-told story,” Donnelly said. “I think this version will give those who know A Christmas Carol all the things they expect, but not as they’ve experienced them before. There are more than enough psychedelic, time-travelling and musical surprises to keep those familiar with the story on the edge of their seats, while the authentic essence of Dickens has been retained for those coming completely fresh to the classic tale. I can’t wait to share this new version of A Christmas Carol with the world and sincerely hope audiences embrace it this year and for many to come.”
