Driver Studios has teamed up with the Emmy-nominated Shrek 2, Rugrats and The Smurfs writer David N. Weiss, along with the Funkly Monks writing team of John Winkler and Michael Farruggia, for the series DreamWeaver.

Geared toward kids 6 to 10, DreamWeaver tells the story of a shy young girl who must discover her hidden courage, as she journeys into the realm of dreams with her fearless teddy bear, to rescue her mother from the evil king of nightmares. The deal marks the first major acquisition for Driver, which is best known for its award-winning YouTube channel Cool School.

“We couldn’t be happier working with such outstanding talent as David, John and Mike,” said Scott Weitz, CEO of Driver Studios.

“David is one of the best creative minds in the animation world today,” said Rob Kurtz, Driver’s head of creative.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Driver Studios,” said Weiss. “They love the creative process and are deeply devoted to making great kids’ entertainment.”
