On April 1, Disney+ launched the Disney Junior RoboGobo series, which combines many features that kids love—superheroes, robot action and cute pets. With a star-studded cast featuring Cynthia Erivo, Alan Cumming, Dulé Hill, Ana Gasteyer and many more, it follows as five pets are adopted by kid inventor Dax and outfitted with super-powered Robo-Suits to help rescue other animals.
The series initially aired on Disney Junior in January, followed by the first episode becoming freely available to everyone on YouTube. That episode garnered over 4 million views within the first two weeks. Now, preschoolers and their families can watch the series in its entirety at their leisure on Disney+.
Series creator and executive producer Chris Gilligan speaks with TV Kids Weekly about the origin of the series, what the voice cast lends to the storyline and how his previous work on Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends and T.O.T.S. helped prepare him for launching a brand-new show.
