Puffin Rock is set to return to CBeebies and BBC iPlayer in the U.K. and RTÉjr and RTÉ Player in Ireland with a third season in September.

The series follows the adventures of the young puffins Oona and Baba and their friends. The episodes, narrated by Chris O’Dowd, explore themes of belonging, courage and friendship.

Puffin Rock comes from Cartoon Saloon and Dog Ears and is financed and developed with the assistance of Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen and Coimisiún na Meán. International sales are managed by Superights Kids & Family.

The third season follows the success of the animated family film Puffin Rock and the New Friends.

“Little ones and their grownups have shown so much love for Puffin Rock already, and it’s great to be able to bring more adventures to them,” said Kate Morton, senior head of commissioning at CBeebies. “The universal themes of friendship and courage are at the heart of these stories, and we know they mean a lot to families, so we’re delighted that CBeebies continues to be the U.K. home of Puffin Rock.”

Cartoon Saloon and Dog Ears jointly said, “We are incredibly proud to have created a third season of Puffin Rock. Working with CBeebies and RTÉ to bring this beautiful crafted and life-enhancing animation to audiences across the U.K. and Ireland is such a pleasure. Puffin Rock has built a wonderful following these past ten years, with fans all over the world, and we’re excited for the future of our preschool brand.”
