Yasmin Evans and Jonny Nelson have signed on as hosts of CBBC’s new live kids’ morning show Saturday Mash-Up!, which is due to debut next month.

Evans currently presents BBC Radio 1Xtra’s program on weekdays from 1 to 4 p.m. Nelson has served as an entertainment reporter on the red carpet. The pair will join CBBC regular Hacker T Dog on Saturday Mash-Up!, which is slated to feature a variety of celebrity guests, games and competitions. The BBC Children’s production will air live from MediaCityUK on CBBC every Saturday starting September 30 at 9 a.m. It will also simulcast on BBC Two.

Evans commented: “It’s an absolute honor to be a part of the show. Most of us can remember that, when we were younger, Saturday mornings were made for eating breakfast in front of live kids’ TV. Myself, Jonny and Hacker are ready to bring back that anarchy to Saturday mornings. You’re in for a real treat!”

Nelson noted: “I’ve been waiting 15 years for a reason to get up on a Saturday. I thought I’d probably take up jogging or something, but not end up presenting Saturday morning children’s TV! The fact that it’s back, it’s live and I have anything to do with it is both exciting and alarming!”

Hacker T Dog added: “After a salary negotiation with the BBC I’m happy to say that I’m joining Saturday Mash-Up! Well, someone’s got to show Yasmin and Jonny how to do it!”
