PBS Kids has launched a variety of free resources for kids and their parents as many schools in the U.S. close indefinitely due to COVID-19.

In an effort to help parents now homeschooling their children, PBS Kids is sending out a daily email newsletter with educational activities. Additional resources that PBS Kids is providing for parents and their children amid the pandemic include tips for parents on how to talk to children about the novel coronavirus.

The tips cover age-appropriate and simple facts to share with children, how to assure kids that they’re safe and emphasizing the things a family can do—washing hands, practicing healthy habits—to mitigate the risks. PBS Kids is also providing tips for how parents and children can de-stress during this time of uncertainty, from deep-breathing exercising and turning down the “fireHOSE” to seizing the opportunity.
