Paramount+ Sets Big Nate Adaptation

The new animated series Big Nate, based on the best-selling children’s books and comics from Lincoln Peirce, is slated to debut on Paramount+ in early 2022.

Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, the series will feature original storylines centered on the charming, mischievous sixth-grader Nate, who is a magnet for misadventure. At launch, Big Nate will be available in the U.S., Latin America, Canada and Australia.

The cast includes Ben Giroux (Henry Danger, Danger Force, Hart of Dixie), Dove Cameron (Descendants, Liv and Maddie), Rob Delaney (Catastrophe, Deadpool 2, Hobbs & Shaw), Bryce Charles (black-ish, Young Love), Daniel Cohen (LEGO City Adventures, Body of Proof), Arnie Pantoja (Final Fantasy VII Remake, Trolls: The Beat Goes On), Charlie Schlatter (The Loud House, Justice League Action), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Simpsons, American Dad) and Carolyn Hennesy (LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars, True Blood).

Peirce’s Big Nate books are published worldwide in 33 languages and the comic strip appears in more than 400 newspapers. Peirce is serving as a consultant throughout the series’ development and production. Executive producers are Mitch Watson (All Hail King Julien) and John Cohen (The Angry Birds Movie).
