Paddington, Hilda Land Daytime Emmy Wins

Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Paddington and Netflix’s Hilda were among the shows that picked up wins at the Daytime Emmy Awards Children’s & Animation ceremony.

The event, which was live streamed on Friday, was hosted by singer, songwriter, director and actress Raven-Symoné.

The Adventures of Paddington was named outstanding preschool children’s animated series. It also won the award for writing for a daytime animated program. The award for preschool, children’s or family viewing went to HBO Max’s The Power of We: A Sesame Street Special, which also picked up a Daytime Emmy for its writing team. Hilda was named outstanding children’s animated series. In the educational and informational series category, the winner was PBS KIDS Talk About.

In the performance categories, winners included Jace Chapman in The Healing Powers of Dude, Lupita Nyong’o in Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices and Sophie Grace in The Baby-Sitters Club–all Netflix shows—as well as Mark Hamill for Disney Channel’s Elena of Avalor and Parker Simmons for Cartoon Network’s Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart.

The Daytime Emmys also honored Baby Yaga‘s Kal Athannassov, Here We Are: Notes For Living on Planet Earth‘s Anne Moth, Go! Go! Cory Carson‘s Mike Dutton and Chris Sasaki, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous‘s Zesung Kang and Animaniacs‘ Karl Hadrika with individual achievement awards.
