Overlord and the Underwoods Headed to Hulu

Hulu has acquired U.S. streaming rights for the family series Overlord and the Underwoods.

The original live-action, single-camera comedy follows the Underwoods, a family whose life is turned upside down when their distant cousin, Overlord, the second most-wanted villain in the universe, seeks refuge in their home after being forced into intergalactic witness protection.

The show is from Anthony Q. Farrell (NBC’s The Office, CBBC’s Secret Life of Boys, The Parker Andersons/Amelia Parker) and co-creator Ryan Wiesbrock (Buddy Thunderstruck, Holly Hobbie). It will land on Hulu this summer. Overlord and the Underwoods is produced by marblemedia and Cloudco Entertainment.

“We are thrilled this series will be reaching new fans on Hulu,” said Mark Bishop, executive producer and co-CEO at marblemedia. “We know Overlord and the Underwoods will delight their audiences and fit right in amongst Hulu’s premium content offering.”

“We are excited that our series Overlord and the Underwoods has found a new home with Hulu, and we hope the compelling characters and stories resonate with their audience,” added Ian Lambur, executive VP of content strategy, co-productions and global distribution at Cloudco Entertainment.
