BURBANK: An upcoming time-traveling episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, due to debut on Nickelodeon later this month, will feature characters from the original 1980s series.

The episode, titled “Trans-Dimentional Turtles,” will see the CGI Ninja Turtles travel back in time to meet their 2D counterparts, with original voice cast members Cam Clarke, Rob Paulsen, Barry Gordon and Townsend Coleman on board. Pat Fraley also signed on to reprise his role as supervillian Krang. The new half-hour episode is set to premiere on March 27 at 11 a.m. It will also offer a glimpse of the Ninja Turtles in a comic book world resembling Kevin Eastman’s comic book series.

The CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been airing on Nickelodeon since 2012. The show, produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studios, is currently in its fourth season. It is seen in more than 170 territories and has been translated into 50-plus languages.
