Slim Goodbody, who taught kids about the human body in the 1970s and 1980s, is returning with a new animated series in development.

From production company Luminous Blue, the series will feature adventure-based characters that explore global health and wellness topics for a 5- to 8-year-old audience. Goodbody is a costumed character created by John Burstein.

The agreement between Slim Goodbody Corp. and Luminous Blue was brokered by Cookbook Media, which has partnered with Slim to manage the overall brand.

“I couldn’t be more excited to partner with Luminous Blue to bring the principles and joy of my work to the next generation of kids,” said Burstein. “Now more than ever, families are looking for content that provides kids a highly engaging resource to better understand themselves and a source of connection to one another. I can’t wait to see how much fun kids will have with this new format.”

John Edwards, head of story at Luminous Blue, added, “We’d love kids from around the world to feel the same kind of wonder we felt with Slim Goodbody, but in a brand-new, exciting format.”
