New Season of Wacky Word Songs for TVOkids

A second season of the TVOkids original Wacky Word Songs is set to debut next week, this time focused on math skills.

Season two features Big Top Academy’s Ava Ro performing songs about numbers, exploring math concepts like fractions, probability, quadrilaterals and symmetry. Produced by Apartment 11 Productions, in association with TVOkids, Wacky Number Songs premieres on TVOkids.com and the TVOkids YouTube and Roku channels on August 2 and on the linear channel on August 9.

Apartment 11 is prepping production for season three: Wacky Media Songs. Season three will connect children with media literacy skills, featuring songs that explore advertising, the internet and social media. Topics will include clickbait, bias and fake news.

“We all loved how season one of Wacky Number Songs made learning fun and harnessed kid-centric silliness for building real-world skills,” said Marney Malabar, director of kids’ TV at TVO. “Season two brings that same magic to learning numbers with a catchy tune.”

“With song titles like ‘Tally Up!,’ ‘Gone, Gone Polygon’ and ‘Attention to Dimension,’ children who are 5 to 7 years old won’t be able to resist singing along with Ava and exploring the fascinating world of math,” added Mindy Laxer, co-executive producer at Apartment 11.

Wacky Number Songs is made with the financial participation of the Canada Media Fund, Shaw Rocket Fund, the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit and the Quebec Film and Television Tax Credit.
