Netflix Picks Up Animasia’s Harry & Bunnie, Chuck Chicken

Animasia Studio has licensed Harry & Bunnie and Chuck Chicken to Netflix, alongside other global deals.

Harry & Bunnie, a 78×7-minute non-dialogue slapstick comedy, is available on Netflix worldwide, except for China. The show, which is airing on Disney Channel Asia Pacific, has also expanded its presence in the AsiaPac region on free-TV channels in Malaysia, including TV3 and TV9. In China, the property has landed on platforms such as Tencent Video, Youku, YanHua Media, LuTong Net, Suma Vision and CIBN.

The 52×11-minute action comedy Chuck Chicken can soon be seen on Netflix in multiple territories. Chuck Chicken was recently licensed by Sasbadi Holdings Berhad in Malaysia, a publisher of educational materials. Under the pact, Sasbadi Holdings scores a three-year deal to develop a range of books based on the IP, covering collectible books, activity books and comic books, which will be marketed and distributed across the globe. The Chuck Chicken line of books by Sasbadi Holdings will include innovative technologies like augmented reality and games.

Animasia Studio’s Bola Kampung was sold to the Yes Kidz channel in Israel. A story about a football club formed by a group of village kids, the 2D animated sports action series is scheduled to begin airing in Israel in January 2018.

Another football-themed series from the studio, Supa Strikas has now reached more than 130 countries worldwide. The Mediacorp Suria channel in Singapore recently picked up seasons four and five of the show, and viewers can catch up on the series starting from December through to the World Cup 2018 season.
