Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana has scored new sales for its upcoming preschool series Millie Magnificent in Finland, Switzerland, Sweden, Israel and Hungary.

Inspired by the best-selling books from Ashley Spires, the series follows avid creator, problem-solver and innovator Millie Sparks, who strives to find magnificent solutions to her neighborhood’s challenges with her best friends and dog. It has now been picked up Finland’s Yle, Switzerland’s RTS, Sweden’s SVT, Israel’s Hop! and Hungary’s Cinetel.

Each episode of the series fosters preschoolers’ imagination and creativity by promoting critical thinking, problem-solving and the process of trial-and-error. It is inspired not only by Spires’ books but also by Nelvana’s award-winning short film The Most Magnificent Thing, Millie Magnificent.

The new series was previously acquired by CANAL+ in France and Treehouse/STACKTV in Canada.

This comes as a new book in the series, The Most Magnificent Team, from Spires and Kids Can Press, prepares to debut in 2025. The fourth book explores the ups and downs of working with others. The previous three books, The Most Magnificent Thing, The Most Magnificent Idea and The Most Magnificent Maker’s A to Z, have sold close to 1 million copies worldwide combined.

“Ever since we announced the series greenlight, we’ve received a magnificent response to Millie’s adventures from broadcasters all around the world,” said Mellany Welsh, VP and head of Nelvana and Kids Can Press. “With episodes currently delivering, we are blown away by the beautiful animation, and we’re excited to reveal a first look at the series. The whole team at Nelvana has done a brilliant job bringing Millie to life in a new way, while maintaining the themes of learning and perseverance from the books and short film that fans adore.”
