More Teletubbies Licensees for North America

HALIFAX: DHX Brands, the brand-management and consumer-products arm of DHX Media, has appointed six licensees for Teletubbies in North America.

Ahead of the launch of the new Teletubbies series next year on Nick Jr. in the U.S. and on Family Jr. in Canada, the following licensees have come on board: Spin Master (master toy licensee for North America), Accessory Innovations (bags, backpacks, hats), SG Company (footwear), Franco Manufacturing (juvenile bedding) and Betesh (toddler bedding). In addition, VTech has extended its ELA deal into North America, building on its existing agreement for the U.K., France, Germany, Benelux, Iberia, and Australia and New Zealand.

Peter Byrne, the executive VP of DHX Brands, said: “U.K. ratings since launch have been very strong, so we are excited to be rolling out our licensing program in North America in 2016 with such great partners on board.”

The deals were brokered by CPLG North America, which is also in advanced negotiations on other product categories.
