Mondo TV France has partnered with France Télévisions to develop Wonder Pony, an animated adaptation of the comic book of the same name by Marie Spénale.

For children ages 6 to 8, the adaptation will follow the adventures of 9-year-old Louison, who unwittingly releases a bunch of monsters that had been locked away for centuries in an ancient book guarded by a little pink magic pony named Jean-Pierre. Louison then turns into the superhero Wonder Pony and must rein in the monsters she released.

The Wonder Pony comic book was originally published by Jungle. The literary bible was made by Thomas Blanc and Olivier Vannelle.

“We’re delighted to be working with France Télévisions on Wonder Pony, a series that revisits the codes of the superhero with plenty of comedy, humor and fantasy,” said Reidun Montaville, CEO of Mondo TV France and producer of the series.
