Miniteve has partnered with Alibaba’s SVOD service Youku to bring its catalog of educational and entertaining mini-documentaries for preschoolers to more viewers in China.

The licensing deal with Youku will make Miniteve one of the main attractions in the platform’s newly launched “Explore” section, which focuses on educational content for children. Miniteve provides more than 300 episodes about animals, vehicles and playtime. Launched in Sweden in 2011, it entered the Chinese market last year in a partnership with Baidu’s iQiyi.

Henry Chu, founder and CEO of Miniteve, said: “We are of course very humble and glad that Miniteve is so well-liked in China, and we are extremely excited to expand our presence further together with Youku. We really admire their drive to elevate educational kids’ content and we are convinced that Youku will be a perfect home for Miniteve’s original and quality-approved mini-documentaries.”
