Learning Time with Timmy Lands on TV Educa Chile

TVN has launched the educational series Learning Time with Timmy, created in the U.K. through a collaboration between the British Council and Aardman, on TV Educa Chile.

Learning Time with Timmy is aimed at young children learning English as a second language. The series helps children acquire new vocabulary through themed activities and songs, and is enriched with additional material for children as well as advice for parents that is accessible on the official YouTube channel. Learning Time with Timmy became available earlier this month on TV Educa Chile, a free platform established to provide high-quality content to young children during the pandemic throughout Chile.

Applications like Timmy’s Learning New Skills, Timmy’s First Words in English and Timmy’s Starting to Read enable fun and interactive learning through games and videos. The British Council in Chile runs Learning Time with Shaun & Timmy and Primary Plus, English courses for children ages 2 to 12.

Katherine Hutter, director of the British Council in Chile, said: “We are very happy to support this alliance, which will enable many children in Chile to access high-quality content in English. Learning Time with Timmy was designed using techniques to facilitate English-language acquisition at an early age. With the help of TV Educa Chile, we are able to make this content more accessible so that more children can continue to learn English at home during the pandemic.”

Hutter added: “The methodology behind these courses has been proven to be very effective, and we are very pleased to be offering these courses online now, benefitting a greater number of Chilean children.”

Loreto Sanhueza, executive secretary from the TV Educa Editorial Committee, said: “We are very proud to be releasing this high-quality and internationally acclaimed English series on TV Educa Chile. We would like to invite children and parents to enjoy the marvelous world of Timmy whilst reinforcing and expanding their English vocabulary since this is so important in children’s educational development.”

Miguel Mestre, sales manager at Aardman for Latin America, said: “[We are] very excited to be able to partake of this great initiative for children, and their parents, to share some learning, and entertainment time together, particularly during the current health climate.”
