Jetpack Distribution has acquired the international rights for two new animated shows: Oswaldo and Barefoot Bandits.

Oswaldo is a co-production between Brazil-based Birdo Studios and India-based Symbiosis Technologies. It comprises 52 11-minutes (with 39 still in production). The show follows the misadventures of a school-aged penguin, Oswaldo, who was adopted and raised by human parents and who faces his biggest challenge: surviving school.

Barefoot Bandits is produced by New Zealand-based Muckpuddy Animation and is being distributed in partnership with Kid Glove. The series comprises 20 22-minute episodes and currently airs on TVNZ and Ten Australia. It is an adventure comedy series full of aliens, vegetable zombies, lizard people, pirate ghosts and more.

Both of these new animated comedies are targeting 6- to 11-year-olds and their families.

Jetpack Distribution CEO Dominic Gardiner said: “These two shows make fantastic additions to Jetpack’s burgeoning portfolio and further strengthen our offer in comedy animation. Both are funny, quirky and feature hilarious characters that will appeal strongly to kids globally. We look forward to presenting them in Cannes.”
