Jetpack Distribution has secured the international rights, outside of the U.K., for the spoof animal clip show Silly Animals.

The series sees Gary the vlogging dog, voiced by Alan Carr, sneak into a secret underground vault on a mission to broadcast to the world what animals are really like. A co-production between Rebel Television and Media and Silver Star Productions, Silly Animals has been commissioned by Sky Kids.

Broadcasting from the vault, Gary aims to prove that wild animals are not as clever and graceful as humans would have people believe, using clips of pratt-falling pandas, moonwalking marmots and more.

The blended live-action and animated scripted 20×6-minute comedy series targets kids aged 5 to 12. The show launched on Sky last month.

Jetpack CEO Dominic Gardiner said: “We laughed a lot at this show, which is the second animal documentary we’ve added to our catalog recently. Animals are adored by kids across the world and Silly Animals shows them in a hilarious new light. Alan Carr brings his inimitable style to the narration as Gary, and a host of brilliant voiceovers make this show a truly excellent addition to our comedy lineup.”

Aaron Paul, co-founder and CEO of Rebel Television, said: “Silly Animals has been a genuine labor of love for all at Rebel, and we feel privileged to have the amazing Jetpack team on board for the next, exciting part of its journey. The show has the perfect blend of slapstick humor and amazing animal behavior to appeal to kids (even grown-up ones) from every corner of the world.”
