Hasbro Studios is producing the Netflix original animated series Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters for a debut on the streaming service later this year.

Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters is a reimagining of the classic Hasbro brand from the 1970s. The 26-episode show will follow the adventures of three high schoolers who are accidentally exposed to an experimental chemical that turns them into superheroes. It will feature the voices of Steven Yeun, Scott Menville, Ogie Banks, Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day, among others.

Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters is developed for television by executive producer and supervising director Victor Cook (Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated) and executive producer/story editors/head writers Chris “Doc” Wyatt (Ultimate Spider-Man) and Kevin Burke (Ultimate Spider-Man). The series will roll out on Netflix around the globe in late 2017.

Stephen Davis, the chief content officer and executive VP at Hasbro, said: “Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters is the first Hasbro brand to receive a Netflix original series order. We have been waiting for just the right moment to reimagine Stretch for a new audience and our friends at Netflix got it right away; they have been a tremendous partner. We have hit a superhero sweet spot, and with Netflix’s global reach, kids across the world will fall in love with its fun characters and action-packed storyline.”
