Hasbro Creating Toy Lines for Super Monsters & More

Hasbro has reached an agreement with Netflix to create play experiences for the animated preschool series Super Monsters.

Hasbro’s Super Monsters product line will include collectible figures of the core cast, plush, playsets and vehicles from the show, as well as role-play products. Hasbro will launch the Super Monsters collection in fall 2018 under its Playskool brand in the U.S., with additional markets to follow in 2019.

“We are thrilled to team up with Netflix to help bring the adorable Super Monster series to life through our upcoming preschool product line,” said Jonathan Berkowitz, the senior VP of marketing for Hasbro’s Playskool brand. “We love how the series teaches kids valuable life lessons in self-control, kindness, respect and being a good friend, and can’t wait to add this exciting new property to our Playskool portfolio.”

Meanwhile, Hasbro is working on a product line for Nickelodeon’s Top Wing, under the Playskool brand, which will include figures, vehicles, playsets and plush inspired by the show’s four rescue birds. The range is slated to launch in the U.S. this fall, followed by international markets in spring 2019.

“Nickelodeon’s preschool portfolio has a powerhouse roster of content and the action-packed series Top Wing is poised to be another runaway fan favorite,” said Pam Kaufman, the chief marketing officer and president of consumer products at Nickelodeon. “This partnership will be our first preschool master toy deal with Hasbro done on a global scale, which mirrors our content rollout strategy to introduce Top Wing domestically first, followed by international markets. We can’t wait to see our fans earn their wings as they bring the adventures of Swift, Penny, Rod and Brody to life with this new toy line.”

Top Wing has all the signature elements of a top toy property, with great characters, preschool-friendly themes and hi-tech gadgets and vehicles,” said John Frascotti, the president of Hasbro. “We are excited about this strategic partnership with Nickelodeon, and are looking forward to delivering a full Playskool toy line, inspired by the series, later this year.”
