Guru Studio has promoted Jonathan Abraham to the position of VP of sales and business development, with Corey Caplan joining as the company’s director of international sales.

Reporting to Frank Falcone, Guru’s president and executive creative director, Abraham will expand his original mandate beyond content sales and further into the consumer products business. He will aid in driving the company’s strategic sales efforts, including content sales, licensing and merchandising, consumer products and new business ventures.

Caplan will report to Abraham. He will be responsible for the company’s international content sales. Prior to joining Guru, Caplan served as the director of sales at Gusto Worldwide Media and previously held the senior director of sales position at Portfolio Entertainment.

“Jonathan has broad expertise across a wide spectrum of the kids’ business and is well positioned to adapt our sales efforts to the rapidly changing landscape,” said Falcone. “Under his brief tenure, we have seen remarkable sales growth across a variety of new sectors.”

“I’m thrilled to be leading Guru’s expanding sales team into new areas of growth for the company,” said Abraham. “Corey is the perfect addition to our team and together I look forward to bringing our growing roster of exciting kids and family brands to a global audience.”

“It’s an incredible time to join Guru,” added Caplan. “A studio known for creating high-quality, hit shows for kids and families around the world. I’m truly excited to be part of the company’s next phase of growth.”
