FremantleMedia Kids & Family Ties Up with Shellhut

LONDON: FremantleMedia Kids & Family (FMK) has signed a co-production deal with Thai production company Shellhut Entertainment.

Under the agreement, FMK will co-produce a pair of animated series—which will be announced in the near future—with Bob Higgins, the company’s executive VP of creative and production, serving as executive producer. FMK will handle the television distribution and licensing rights for the shows in all territories, excluding Thailand.

Rick Glankler, the president and general manager at FMK, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Shellhut Entertainment to create some outstanding content for the Asian market and beyond. This new deal sees FremantleMedia Kids & Family expand its global production capability and moves the division towards becoming one of the most active and successful Western kids’ and family entertainment companies working in the territory.”

Dr. Jwanwat Ahriyavraromp, CEO and founder of Shellhut Entertainment, added: “We are thrilled to have FremantleMedia as our partner, and also to manage the worldwide distribution and licensing for our new TV series. This will create a new chapter for our company, and with FremantleMedia’s expertise, we are more confident that the TV series and the characters will have international appeal for millions of global viewers.”
