UYoung has inked a deal with U.K. production company Eye Present for the content and merchandising rights to seasons one and two of CBeebies property Messy Goes to Okido in China.

UYoung also made an equity investment in the show, which will give them a share in the series’ international revenues. Messy Goes to Okido has recently been commissioned by CBeebies for a third season, and the show’s co-creators, Doodle Productions, have also recently announced a direct-to-consumer online shop, featuring a range of Messy Goes to Okido toys, books and other products.

Genevieve Dexter, CEO of Eye Present, said: “It is wonderful to have such a strong partner in UYoung to assist Messy Goes to Okido in reaching its full potential. The content rights were held by DHX whilst the merchandizing rights were held by Eye Present representing sister company, Doodle Productions, the SPV which owns the underlying rights to the property. We have spent some time aligning those rights to facilitate this deal and are very pleased to have concluded these intricate negotiations.”

“We believe that Messy Goes to Okido has great potential both in China and worldwide, and we are delighted to formalize our partnership with Eye Present and Doodle Productions,” said Clara Yang, VP of international business at UYoung.
