Epic Story to Distribute Ormhildur the Brave

Epic Story Media Distribution has acquired the global distribution rights, excluding select presale territories and platforms, to the upcoming Icelandic kids’ series Ormhildur the Brave.

From the Reykjavík-based studio Compass Films, the series explores climate awareness and sustainability through a fantastical lens. It is slated for delivery in Q1 of 2026 and will launch on NDR, KiKA and RÚV.

Compass is also in development on a 45-minute Christmas special titled Ormhildur and the Christmas Creeps. The franchise is set expand with the forthcoming release of a book, computer game, immersive Roblox experience and other merchandise.

The franchise draws inspiration from Icelandic folklore and mythical storytelling. It is set in the future, when all of Earth’s glaciers have melted, releasing mythical creatures from the ice. Ormhildur embarks on a quest to cast a powerful spell and restore them to the ice.
