NBCUniversal International Networks (NBCUIN) has launched its third DreamWorks branded block, on ICE TV in the Maldives.

The initial lineup will include such film-based shows as Dragons: Race to the Edge, Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, The Adventures of Puss in Boots and All Hail King Julien, as well as the preschool series Noddy Toyland Detective and Raa Raa the Noisy Lion. The English-language branded block will begin broadcasting on the free-to-air channel at 4 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday.

Christine Fellowes, the managing director of NBCUIN in the Asia Pacific, said: “At NBCUniversal International Networks we are continually finding new ways to reach audiences. With the well-received launch of DreamWorks on Medianet’s pay-TV platform, introducing a DreamWorks branded block on their free platform was a natural next step for us to build on that success and grow the popularity of our signature titles. We are thrilled to be partnering with ICE TV and their extensive reach to bring DreamWorks’ award-winning content to even more households across the islands.”

Ahmed Shafeeu, the CEO of Medianet and ICE TV, added: “Forging a partnership with DreamWorks has been phenomenal and we are incredibly excited at the potential prospects that can be explored. Bringing the best-quality animation through ICE TV to the Maldives not only enhances the quality of content on our platform but also provides all Maldivians with an avenue to be exposed to award-winning content that appeals to all ages.”
