BANGKOK: Thailand’s Channel 3 is teaming up with pay-TV platform CTH and DreamWorks Animation to launch the first daily free-to-air programming block in Asia featuring original series from the studio, including Dragons: Race to the Edge.

The broadcaster will kick off the programming block on weekdays in March with two signature DreamWorks Animation original series: All Hail King Julien and The Adventures of Puss in Boots. Dragons: Race to the Edge will run on weekends. The DreamWorks Animation-branded programming block will air Monday through Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:20 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.

“We are honored to be working with Channel 3 and CTH to bring DreamWorks Animation’s original television series to the leading network in Thailand,” said Eric Ellenbogen, the co-head of international TV at DreamWorks Animation. “Just as CTH was the first affiliate in Asia to carry the DreamWorks Channel, Channel 3 now becomes the first network in Asia to feature a free-to-air programming block of DWA shows. Once again, Thailand leads the way in expanding access to DreamWorks’s beloved content.”

“DreamWorks Animation has crafted some of the world’s most cherished stories and characters, and we could not be prouder to be the first network in Asia to carry a DreamWorks free-to-air programming block,” said Surin Krittayaphongphun, the executive VP of Channel 3 (The Bangkok Entertainment Co.). “Their original television series will be a great addition to the lineup of high-quality programming our audiences have come to expect from Channel 3.”
