TORONTO: Disney XD is set to launch in Canada on December 1, as is Disney Junior, making Corus Entertainment the official home of all Disney networks in the country.

To mark the Canadian launch of Disney XD, the channel will air a Star Wars Rebels season two marathon that will lead into the exclusive premiere episode titled “Wings of the Master.” The Disney XD lineup will also feature new episodes of Lab Rats, Kirby Buckets and Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything, in addition to the animated series Gravity Falls and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Disney XD programming that currently airs on Corus’ Disney Channel will continue to be scheduled there until November 29. Then, on December 1, that programming will move exclusively to Disney XD.

The week Disney Junior launches, the channel will feature the network premiere of the one-hour original animated movie The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar. In addition, the animated series Goldie & Bear will make its network debut on Disney Junior, which will also air new episodes and holiday programming of series such as Doc McStuffins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Miles from Tomorrowland, Sofia the First and more.

"We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Disney by becoming the exclusive home in Canada for Disney XD, along with Disney Channel and Disney Junior," said Colin Bohm, the executive VP and head of Corus Kids. "With a stellar roster of hit series, including Star Wars Rebels, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Gravity Falls, Disney XD offers kids hilarious programming that is full of action-packed entertainment."

He continues: "As leaders in understanding the value and importance of kids’ content, we are excited to bring Disney Junior to our audiences. Disney is a renowned leader in safe and trusted programming for kids and families, that above all embodies creative storytelling, imaginative adventures and beloved characters."
