Billy Campbell and Kathy Najimy have joined the cast of The Rocketeer, the new Disney Junior animated comedy-adventure series inspired by Dave Stevens’ superhero comic books and the subsequent Walt Disney Pictures feature film.

Set to debut on Disney Channel and Disney Junior this fall, the series will follow Kit Secord (Kitana Turnbull) after she learns she’s secretly next in line to become the flying, rocket-pack wearing superhero The Rocketeer. Campbell, who starred as Cliff Secord in The Rocketeer film, will voice Dave Secord, Kit’s father, while Najimy will voice Kit’s mother, Sareena Secord.

Campbell said: “This is my first voice-acting job ever and I’m thrilled that it’s for The Rocketeer. This has been a really nice full-circle moment for me and I’m looking forward to introducing a new generation of kids, including my own, to The Rocketeer‘s stories.”

The Rocketeer series’ voice cast also includes Frank Welker as Grandpa Ambrose and Butch the bulldog, Callan Farris as Kit’s best friend Tesh and Navia Robinson as Kit’s flight school classmate Valerie Valkyrie. Maria Bamford, Kari Wahlgren, Maurice LaMarche, Charlie Adler, Parvesh Cheena and celebrity chef Ted Allen all lend their voices to the series’ recurring comedic villains.

Developed and executive produced by seven-time Emmy Award nominee Nicole Dubuc, The Rocketeer is produced by Wild Canary in association with Disney Junior. Michael Kenny is supervising director, Beau Black is the songwriter and Dominic Lewis is the composer on the series.
