Disney Channel Starts Production on Andi Mack

BURBANK: Production has kicked off in Salt Lake City on Andi Mack, a new live-action series that is slated to premiere on Disney Channel next year.

Andi Mack follows the self-discovery journey of a 13-year-old girl whose world is turned upside down when her sister returns home unexpectedly. The show, which stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee, is created and executive produced by Terri Minksy (Lizzie McGuire). Joining the previously announced cast is Sofia Wylie (Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn) as Buffy, Andi’s best friend.

Also starring in Andi Mack are Lilan Bowden (Zombie Apocalypse) as Bex, Lauren Tom (The Joy Luck Club) as Celia, Joshua Rush (The Lion Guard) as Cyrus and newcomer Asher Angel as Jonah. Michelle Manning (Adventures in Babysitting) is exec producing alongside Minsky, with Phil Baker (Good Luck Charlie) serving as co-executive producer.
