Disney Channel has greenlit the original animated series Amphibia and The Owl House, with one coming from Matt Braly (Gravity Falls) and the other from Dana Terrace (DuckTales, Gravity Falls).

Amphibia, from Braly, is a comedy about the adventures of a self-centered 13-year-old girl who is magically transported to a fictitious world. Executive produced by Terrace, The Owl House is a horror comedy about Luz, a teenager who accidentally discovers a portal to the Demon Realm.

Both series are slated to premiere in 2019 and are produced by Disney Television Animation. Additionally, Disney Channel ordered a fourth season of Star vs. The Forces of Evil from creator Daron Nefcy.

Eric Coleman, the senior VP of original programming and general manager of Disney Television Animation, said, “Amphibia and The Owl House are both set in wildly imaginative worlds and share hallmarks of great Disney storytelling, including fantastical elements and memorable characters. Matt and Dana each bring a unique sensibility to their shows unlike anything else on TV right now.”
